The whole purpose of small groups is to bring different viewpoints together. Not that they should be persected. However, just because there are many different interpretations of Scripture does not mean that each one is just as valid as the other.
The whole point of small group is to bring the differing viewpoints together and to ultimately dive into the WORD to obtain the correct understanding of Scripture.
Let me explain. There's a reason why we are suppose to pray before we dive into Scripture. Because the Bible gives us a small portion but insight nevertheless, into the character of God, it's unconceivable that plain human minds are able to understand it. There's no way we can do this on our own.
Due to our lack of understanding of the thoughts and wisdom of an all powerful God, it does not make sense that we should just open the Bible without asking God for the Spirit to help us give us discernment and ultimately the correct understanding of Scripture.
Although it is plausible, there can be more than one interpretration of Scripture, it does not follow that they are all correct. To justify a book that is Holy with the limits of our minds does not make sense. If anything, this is ludicrous.
For those who claim that people can love a single person unconditionally without any hint of anything else in their hearts are liars. As Christians mature, they become more aware of their sins. Apostle Paul himself declared that he intially the worst of the prophets\disciples but later on in the book of Timothy became the worst of all the sinners. Why the change? Did Apostle Paul become a horrid wretched person who sinned more during that time?
No, that's not the case. However as Christians mature, we are more aware of the sins that are not so blatant in our lives. What it means to be righteous and blameless before God is the fact that when we sin we confess our sins to HIM. That way if it is brought up later, God can not bring forth the accusation that we hid something from him. However, a trap in our society and Christianity is the fact that people are not aware of the own sins in their lives. To believe that a person on their own accord could love someone unconditionally is one of them.
There's a reason why that following the commandments on our own is impossible. Hence we need God to help us out. If we could love one another unconditionally, we would be justified by the law and not justified by faith.
Chew on that..so that makes me wonder and question to all..
Are you a righteous and blameless person before God?
